58 detained during ILP checking drive at Daporijo
DAPORIJO, July 3: An intensive Inner Line Permit (ILP) checking drive within Daporijo township began on July 2 and till date 58 persons have been detained for not possessing ILP.
The drive is being carried out by an official team headed by Town Magistrate Rido Tarak (CO) with the support of the police team including OC G. Tassar, SI T. Rebi and ASI T. Siyum under the initiative of the District Administration.
Rido Tarak informed that of the 46 detained on July 2, 45 have been released with fines imposed on them due to insufficient lock up facility in the district.
The surprise checkings were conducted at Veterinary Colony, Sigin Colony, New Market, Golden Market, Gandhi Market and Sikarijo areas of the town and it will continue in other areas of Daporijo.
The District Administration also informed that a checking drive on motor vehicle registration and relevant documentation would begin sooon in the district. DIPRO
APIC slaps penalty on DDSE
ITANAGAR, July 3: The Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission has imposed penalty of Rs 25,000 only on Aalo DDSE Tomi Doke for deliberately defying the orders of the commission. The Commission has imposed penalty while taking cognizance of the appeal made by one Takeng Samoir regarding education matter for the greater interest of students from Pidi and Manigong of West Siang District, an APIC release said.
The Commission further directed Doke to deposit the penalty to AG Itanagar, (0070) on or before 31st July. Failing to comply with the judgment would invite the commission to invoke section 20(2), 19(8)(B) and will be issued warrant of arrest proceeding under order XVI Rule10(3)CPC 1908, release added.

Basic computer training for govt. staff
ZIRO, July 3: The Deputy Commissioner, Lower Subansiri district Krishna Mohan Uppu has initiated training programs for the staff and officials of DC’s Office on basic computer applications at NIC Office Ziro.

NEW DELHI/ITANAGAR, July 3: Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju will visit Arunachal Pradesh for four days beginning tomorrow during which he will review the border area development programme and law and order situation in the North East.
He will hold a meeting with Chief Minister Nabam Tuki and senior officials of the state government besides officials of Border Roads Organisation (BRO), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and Ministry of Home Affairs.

Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar shocked many when he said that timelines
for environmental and forest clearances are being brought down suggesting that the
days of ministry seen as speed-

The priority areas are defence and public welfare projects like national highways, railways, ports, roads, airports and linear transmission.
By proposing to shorten the time period, the ministry might find itself in trouble as studies related to environment needs lot of minute studies and observation. He will also face opposition from environmentalists who have been instrumental in stopping projects that are damaging to the communities and environment.
Jumping into conclusion without thorough study of particular project could spell disaster for all stakeholders. Simplification of process is another thing but speeding up clearances certainly will not act in favour of fragile environment.
Environment protection and development can go hand in hand only when there is proper planning and respect for nature. And it requires time to plan and execute any project which will have massive environmental consequences.
For a ministry that is responsible for protecting the environment, the minister seems to be unmindful of the fact that development does not have to be at the cost of environment and people.

The students are very grateful to our state govt for providing us with stipend.
But this year we did not receive the full amount as it was said that there will be a second instalment. The second instalment was supposed to be given before our semester examination i.e, in the 6th month this year.
We are still patiently waiting for any information regarding the stipend.
It is our humble request to the concern authorities to release the 2nd instalment as soon as possible. And if possible please keep education sector out of corruption!

Recently, Indian Super League (ISL) was launched and actor John Abraham has come up with North East United FC as his team which is a good news for football lovers of the North East Region including Sikkim. Launching ISL is a good step for promoting football in the region. Hope that with the launching of ISL franchise, the team will offer opportunity for the young footballers of the region including Arunachal. Further, it is hoped that the ISL will provide ‘clean football’, free from any controversy unlike IPL in recent past.

Water harvesting is the mantra
Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily, I would like to throw some light on scarcity of water and the need to manage it as we all are facing acute scarcity of water. It is a nightmare when there is shortage of water.
We all knows that the main causes for scarcity of water is decreasing rainfall due to which the streams and river are drying up. This in turn is caused due to deforestations, high demands of vehicles, increases in mega factories, among other phenomena.
Deforestation is one of the main causes. We should also have to plant more trees.
Since the causes cannot be controlled drastically, we as responsible citizen must learn how to utilise water by bringing changes in our daily water usage pattern.
This is a collective responsibility. We should not blame local administration for this. We are all responsible for our own sufferings.
We should try to follow few simple tips to save more water.
For bathing stop using showers, bathtub etc instead follow old style of bucket and mug.
Please do not wash clothes in washing machine instead washing by hand is advisable. Please do not shave/brush under running tap.
Use a bucket, not a hose to wash cars and do not wash cars daily. You may opt for cleaning with damp cloth.
For watering of plants do not use fresh water and it is advisable not to clean utensils, dishes etc under running water. Repair the leakage on tapes and pipelines. Please do not let water overflow or run after use.
Water harvesting is mantra for survival.
If we all follow these simple step's there would no scarcity of water as much as we are suffering now.

Dear Editor,
Through your daily news paper, I would like to bring to your notice that Arunachal need to keep its towns clean. Every month, there should be social service for one day to clean our towns. Officers, public leaders, parents, students should participate in the social service. When you sweep with your own hand then you will be hesitant to dirty it. More over, it will be a sign of love for own town and sign of unity among communities.
How beautiful and pleasurable it would be to watch the people from different walks of life coming out with a broom or spade to clean the town instead of letting the paid labours work alone. Instead of complaining, we should all come out and contribute for one day in a month.

Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed news paper, I being a teacher would like to ask the education department as well as to the public regarding the admission fee as per RTE Act 2009.
Every parent expends a lot of money on unnecessary pursuits but do not miss the opportunity to shout at teachers asking meagre amount for children’s welfare.
My question is that can anyone tell us how to run the school without any financial help from any corner? Think of paper work involved as there are many examinations as per RTE (CCE). How does one manage the papers and paper work during the SMC meeting?
We are in fact not in favour of collecting fees from the children. We too think that all children must come to school.
But tell us about an alternative way where we don’t have to collect fees to meet up petty expenses.

Dangerous roads
Dear Editor,
Though your esteemed daily, I would like to bring to the notice of the state government and concern authority, the problems because of the bad roads.
It is very dangerous for the citizens of the capital complex. Without proper road, there are many accidents and conflict among the people. The highway authorities and state Govt are to be blamed for this. Almost all the road between Nirjuli to Itanagar are turning into drains.
This problems is not recent. For the last one decade, the concern authority have not taken proper steps to make the roads better.
Due to traffic and damaged road, emergency patients are unable to reached hospital at right time. The state Govt have no responsibility and they have no idea what middle class and poor people are facing in their lives. For the last one month, the condition of the road have been deteriorating but no work has been taken up.
If the situation is not brought under control soon there will be major problem. Already some places have been destroyed by landslide because there are no proper drains.
All necessary steps must be taken to make the roads better.
